Solar Cookers - A Great Solar Energy Science Project

Solar Energy science projects have now become the most popular thing ever in most places thanks to the ease with which they can be built and the materials that they require which is available very easily to everyone. Therefore these projects can be very easily constructed with simple science. Many science competitions are filled with people and students who build devices that make use of solar energy mainly because they find it easy to build. So let's take a look at some of the various things you can build that makes use of our sun and is really useful to everyone.
One of the main things that solar energy science projects require is obviously the sun. The sun reaches out to almost all human beings on earth thus providing the fuel for our solar projects. So, when I was participating in a science competition a couple of years back, I made use of simple things and built the following devices which I think would be extremely useful for someone looking to start out with these projects too.
Solar Cookers are one of the most popular solar energy science projects. These cookers are available for purchase by many companies. However, they can be built very easily too. Get hold of a box that is coated with black colour on all sides and covered by a glass panel on the top. Then, get hold of a big magnifying lens and place it at an appropriate distance from the box at the top such that it faces the glass box and the sun's rays pass through the magnifying lens to reach the box. That is all you need to do for building a solar cooker. Very high temperatures can be reached with the help of this type of a solar cooker.
This is but an example of one such device that you can build for a science project. I myself have participated in many science competitions and science fairs myself and have found that projects related to our sun's energy are a big favorite for the judges. They are always impressed with the way by which free energy in the form of the sun can be used to do such wonderful and useful things. Just make sure that it is slightly different from the others and has something creative about it. So, I hope that this helped you in choosing your favourite and easy to build solar energy science project.
Andy Jerald is devoted to helping to save the environment and control pollution by using the renewable sources of energy. He generates his own electricity with the help of solar energy at his house. He blogs about his projects. Check it out at Solar Energy Science Projects. Also check out a related article at Solar Energy Science Projects.

Why Not Abolish The Department Of Education?

Article 1 Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution lists the Powers of the Congress. There is no mention of education on the list. Because education is not on the list it seems the 10th amendment applies: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people." The law of our Creator assigns the responsibility of educating our children to their parents and families. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Notice the first command is for parents to love God...

How to Come Up With Encouraging Science Projects For Kids

Children these days feel school pressure a lot more than we did when we were at school. The demands of modern general education are more easily felt by a child. As a parent, it is part of our jobs to make sure that our child is well adjusted in their school environment. One of the major forms of pressure most students feel is coming up with science projects for kids. It's usually a very big and important chunk of their science grade, and that can be frightening for a child. Many times children are daunted by the challenge of having to create a project. Chances are that the first science related project your child will create will not be a success. This can be very discouraging for a young child, and many times if we don't help out or pay attention they may develop a defeatist attitude towards challenges. It is up to us as parents to help come up with encouraging science projects for kids. When helping your child do their projects, the first step is to steer them in the ri...
